This is just a general topic about game gear. Discuss all you want about sega's portable system.

What game gear games do you own?
Whats your favourite game gear game?

For me i have :
Sonic 1,2,Chaos,Drift 1,Drift 2, Blast
Taz Mania
Outrun
Mickey Mouse In Castle Of Illusion

and my favourite is Sonic 1. But Mickey Mouse might take over its just so damn hard. I only got my Game Gear in august but i had one before it just broke. I still buy games for it and stuff and i really love the little portable. Personally i find it better than the Gameboy but thats just my opinion.

I really like the Game Gear, and I don't think it should be directly compared to the Game Boy, it's not a fair comparison. I see the Game Gear as somewhere in between a handheld and a full console, it's not really practical to carry around with you like the Game Boy is but it's more portable than a full console since you don't need a TV. And Game Gear games at the time were essentially 'console quality' (not Mega Drive standard, but certainly better than NES standard, and the NES was still very popular when the GG was released), which is something, of course, that the Game Boy couldn't offer. There was deffinitely a place for both, and the Game Gear had some great games, especially since you could play Master System games as well with an adapter.

I'll never forget when I first saw a Game Gear running all those years ago, seeing Sonic on a portable system in full colour like the console versions. The only handhelds I'd played were Game & Watch games (and other LCD games) at the time, and seeing GG I couldn't believe my eyes, it was absolutely amazing! I could never have afforded one though.

Currently I don't own a Game Gear, I had one once but it stopped working, so now all I've got are all the Sonic games unlockable in Sonic Adventure DX (and in Gems collection), which isn't good enough since they look awful on a big screen. I really should get one.

Thats what i was like. I had them on PC, Gems, Mega + & SADX and no matter what i played it on i didnt like it since they looked awful and couldnt stand playing them. Since i really did wanna play em i decided to go and buy one and finally found one on ebay for 50 euros which included the console, adapter and 4 games (Sonic 1,2,Chaos & Taz Mania).

What was stupid about the ones on the Gamecube compilations is that there are perfectly good Master System versions of Sonic 1, 2, Chaos and Spinball which are essentially the same games but re-designed slightly to be played on a full TV screen. These are absolutely fine on a big screen, yet they gave us the Game Gear versions instead!

Do you still get/play games for your Game Gear? The power plug socket its messed up and loose so the wire wont stay in ne more. Also, my blinds knocked a cup of milk into the battery part and it dried up before I discovered it lol [thank god for emulators]

Woah that sucks bad but it sounds funny lol. And yea it ate up batteries but ive been playing with six rechargeable batteries in there and i can get a good 6-7 hours on it when they are fully charged. Also thanks for reminding me that streets of rage is on Game Gear. Ive got some ebaying to do :P

Streets of Rage was cool but i remember it had wierd weapons like a cigarette that u can throw at ppl to immobilize (sp?) them for a few seconds...wierd

also a milk jug that u can pour that makes a puddle that they slip on lol

I just looked on ebay and someone is selling SOR 1&2 Game Gear for 7-10 pounds. Cant remember the exact price but i have never found SOR 2 on ebay before. I knew it was there though cause i had the rom. Unfortunatly they only deliver to england :'(.

I used to have a demo of road rash on PC. It was awesome. Escaping police, running people & Animals over (In comedic way). It was awesome.

Dammit! I just tried putting a bet on Sonic Blast for game gear. Its rare to find and appeared on Ebay complete. It was quite close to the end of the auction and i put 10 pound on. I knew i wouldnt get it and i knew id be out bid. But by 63 quid! Yea it ended up going for 73 pounds in the end. Well if anyone is willing to sell me this game please do :p. Its all i need so i can get all sonic games. All the others i havent got i see on ebay lots but Sonic Blast rarely appears and if it does i always get out bidded. So if anyone is willing to sell it to me please contact me. I dont care if its just the cart alone. That will do :P

Ive won this time.......i hope. I found Sonic Blast on ebay for 21 dollars/15 euros. After i saw how much it went for before i quickly grabbed hold of this one and its mine :P Its complete with box and manual and the user had 9000 ratings and 99.2% Positive. its coming from canada so i hope i get it.

Also as for road rash i will look that up one day. But next is the other sonic games i havent got and also Streets of rage 1&2. Not only that there is sega saturn games i want. But eventually i will get road rash ;)
