Does anyone know what the deal is with this game, it looks beautiful, and the whole swiming around with wales and sharks and stuff looks fun. but has anyone heard what the basis of the gameplay will be?

It's called 'Endless Ocean' here in the states, and it looks pretty cool. As long as you're not swimming around looking for buried treasure the whole time.

It looks interesting, but I could hardly call it a game.

Here's what IGN had to say in their preview:

I'm already hugely interested in this title, though I haven't heard much about it.
Anything that's to do with the being under the ocean in a serious game gets me interested I guess, it's probably partly where my love for Ecco originally came from!
If it's anything like I'm expecting it to be, it'll be a launch day purchase for me

It looks pretty interesting. The mystical feeling of underwater play and it definitely shows off the Wii's graphical power.

As far as I've been able to work out, there will be various 'find the treasure/fish' games, but I'd have to say that the main attraction will probably be the sense of exploration. The question is, would too many 'game' elements spoil the sense of reality this title is offering?
