This will also cover some news about Goddess of Dawn, the Wii sequel to PoR.
Who knew who the Black Knight (Zelgius) was before watching GoD vids?
Whats up with Sephiran? Something HAS to happen to him in GoD.
And Mist is a total disgrace yet her best friend, Rolf the archer is the godliest character in the game. (When you level him up.) This is sort of strange isn't it?
And yes I know Goddess of Dawn's abbreviation spells God and that Path of Radiance's is almost the word Poor.

How good are these games? I've not had any experience of them (although I do love Shining Force, and I hear they're similar), but I love the look of the new Wii title.

I was disapointed in Fire Emblem Path of Radiance I perfered the GBA titles and fire emblem Genealogy of the holy war. (which is easily my Favourite best story best battle system and the maps are huge)
Update: by best battle system I was referring to the way you can take over enemy castles and if they capture your castle its game over as for the story I don’t want to give that away but you will be surprised it starts to get a lot darker around the second half of the story.
I think this is one of the best games ever 95/100
sorry to go a bit off subject.
I have never played Shining Force.

I loved Path of Radiance. It was my FAVORITE FE game (followed by Genealogy). Indeed, it is similar to Shining Force but, well, better.

FE kicks ass with SF.
Give it a chance and check out a FE-Game.
My Favorite FE-Games are PoR and Fuuin no Tsurugi because of the Characters in both games, the Battle-System and Story of PoR, the music and difficulty from Fuuin.

How far are you up to on Genealogy of the Holy War.
by the way it is a good idea to get your characters to fall in love or you are going to find the secound half off the game more difficult (if not imposible).
I had to restart Genealogy of the Holy War twice because my characters were not strong enougth.

I've already gotten Noish and Ayra in love. Is that good enough? Also, I am up to Chapter 9. I know, one more till Alvis.

Did you get fury and levin since there is a lot of

I did not use the Laguz much due to the fact that I found the humans much more reliable.

i always had laguz cats in my team. they were very strong!
cool, rolf is going to grow. from a kid to a god. great sights.
i leveld him to the top. i knew this boy had such an aura,
the storytelling of path of radiance was great.
what's that about mist in GoD? why do you complain?
Fire Emblem GoD will be my 4th FE game.
My first was the japanese SNES ROM of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. I always wanted this series to come out here.
After years of waiting I finally got Sacred Stones (GBA) and Path of Radiance (Cube). While Path of Radiance is not that complex in gameplay it's much more complex in story, it's heroic and epic and has a feeling that even beginners could enjoy this type of game. and it has beautiful first class render cutscenes that help the atmosphere a lot. many characters will grow on you, the plot is bending and exciting. over 30 playable+hidden characters are not only interesting, but getting them all is one BIIIG motivation factor for 100% gamers.
Sacred Stones is more the go-back-and-level-up until you're strong enough to beat the next main mission. And you can't get everything and everyone. You'll need at least two playthroughs.
While Path of Radiance is like a fantasy book, it's dialogue driven story really intrigues you. every battlefield, every mission is a little challenge and after a few chapters you're really involved and want to know how things will turn out. more and more cool characters join- the stages will get better. the travels through the whole continent give you the feel of really marching through the lands.
A nice twist was the merchants that early on joined your party. Now you could buy cool weapons, magic, amulets and stuff between missions. Many characters could evolve in friendship when fighting together on the battlefield. They gave you more insight between two specific characters.
I can't wait to try out Shining Force when it arrives in EU.
