Been putting it off for about a year, but tomorrow I'm going to grab the Wii. I've had the money for it for a long time now, stores have units, and I see no reason to not get one.

Just have no idea if I should pick up a game right away or if the included Wii Sports should tide me over for awhile.

Do yourself a favor and get Metroid. You won't regret it. At the very least invest in the VC.

I'll invest in the Virtual Console immediately. It's actually one of the main reasons I'm getting a Wii.

I'll have to take a look and see what's available. ExciteTruck has my interest, so does Super Swing Golf. I'll just have to wait and see what down at the store later today.

Excite Truck is really good, I'm not really into non Mario Kart racers but I love it.
Also consider Twilight Princess and Resi 4, both excellent games.
Metroid looks great too, it's not out here yet though so I don't have opinion's on it yet.

It depends do you live in north america? If you do keep wii sports for a bit and wait for galaxy. unless you have lots of money then I totally recomend metriod 3. Heck I'd say get metriod first. If your a kind a guy who needs a good game with a story get metriod, because wii sports is good but it gets repetitive after a while. Oh and maybe you should wait. Maybe you should get your wii when the wii jackets come out.

I'm a huge sports fan so Wii Sports looks real good. Ended up grabbing Excite Truck and Mortal Kombat Armageddon for $20 each. Also saw Super Swing Golf for $20 so I think I'll be grabbing that shortly as well.

Money isn't an issue for me. I'll probably give Mario a shot, because honestly, the last time I played a Mario game was in the SNES days.

Will be checking out the Virtual Console in the next few days as well.

Also, I'm in Canada.

Also, I'm on the fence with an adventure game. Zelda looks interesting, so does Super Paper Mario.... Resident Evil looks interesting as well. Not really sure what to think of those games though.

Here's the games I'd recommend getting right away:
Zelda TP, Super Paper Mario RE4, Metriod Prime 3, Sin and Punishment and lastly.. Super Metriod.

Now, you shouldn't be bored until November when Mario Galaxy rolls around, then.. in December its brawl time XDD

You said money wasn't an issue and to be honest you could do no wrong buy buying all the games in the list above as they should keep you busy and entertained well into next year

Edit: Trust me dude, Zelda is awesome and you can probably find a second hand version seeing as it was a launch game. I'm currently playing SPM and I'm in ,love with the game, I cant wait to play it on my new monitor too ^u^ and well... RE4 i superb. I have never bothered with the Wii version as to be honest, I have milked the GCN version to death so buying the Wii one would be a waste of my time. However, if you have never played RE4 before hand, now would be a great time to start.

If Excite Truck interests you, you should get it, I love it! But I reccomend RE4 or TP for some serious titles :)

Thanks for the input guys, Excite Truck is better than I expected it would be. I'm still getting used to the Wii controls, and let me tell you, playing Excite Truck with a couple drinks in you results in a few funny moments. Even though the game doesn't have a lot of depth, I'm enjoying it more than Project Gotham Racing and Forza Motorsport on the Xbox 360.

This whole interactive experience has seriously caught me off guard, it's so fresh.

Still haven't had a chance to play Mortal Kombat yet because every chance I get it's either Excite Truck or Wii Sports. Just this morning I discovered how to get my console number.

I've seen Paper Mario and Zelda on sale used. One is 29.99 and the other is 39.99. Also, both are 25% as a promotion going on at Blockbuster. Would probably end up picking up one since I don't know how much I'll be able to play and there are a couple games I want to grab later this year.

One last thing, is Wii Play a good investment?

One last thing, is Wii Play a good investment?

In short No.

But eh, if you want a Wii remote and something thrown in then its a good deal.

Wii Play isn't great, but it's a Wiimote plus some games you might enjoy (I hear the included tank game is really very good).

I'd echo the suggestions of Resi 4 (the controls are perfect, putting it ahead of the already-excellent GC version) and Zelda. Both excellent games. I've never been a Metroid fan, but I've heard nothing but praise for the new one, although it's not out here yet.

It's good a fun little game for when your bord better with 2 people plus they through in a remote. But If you this about it without the remote the game would go for like 10$
