FFIV 3D remake

After Final Fantasy III, Final Fantasy IV is being remade in 3D for the DS (http://gonintendo.com/?p=17559)!
Wonder if this increases or decreases the change to see the original version on the VC...

Why release IV on the GBA then? I'm really annoyed at this, as I bought 4 and I still haven't played it. (Got sick of random battling in III. Been doing it for hours now and i'm still not strong enough to continue :x :x :x)

Yeah, but they don't rerelease the Mario games every 2 years on a new console. If I'm not mistaken, this is the fourth release of FFIV (SNES, PSX, GBA before it), and for the first three FF games, the number is way, way higher (Wonderswan and a bunch of other consoles). Safe to say as long as there are rabid FF fanboys, this'll never be released on the VC for £6 when they can rehash the same code in a physical medium for 5 times that.

And yet I will most certainly be buying this... Nostalgia is a dangerous thing.

Mario Bros on AC, Mario Bros on GBA, Mario Bros on VC. Mario Bros on GBC. And many more have been released. It may not be all inside 2 years, but there's still ALOT of them around.

It was released in Europe as part of Final Fantasy Anthology (IV + V); in North America as part of Final Fantasy Chronicles (IV + Chrono Trigger).
