Without a doubt it is worth a tenner. I spent many hours playing this and supposedly it goes on for about 100 hours. It also has a great multiplayer but you need to link a GBA to the gamecube/wii to play with more than 1 person. It isn't really a proper final fantasy game, the combat is real-time sort of like FFXII i think. Still it's a great game 8)

If you are alone playing this it isn't appealing at all since the gamecube controller is rather crippled and you can only do a 3 hit combo. The gameplay is rather shallow since there's not much of a story and you will find that the game is near to impossible on singleplayer on the later years.

But if yourself have 1-3 friends that can play with you almost every day it's as good as SSBM, although the controllers will be around 100$ each it's still one of the best partyplaying hands on the cube. The graphics is also topclass and is only beaten by Zelda TWW/TP on the gamecube, the music are as good as any FF game and will always fit into the area.

Well to sum this up since my wrist is starting to hurt (writing from the Wii):
Singleplayer: No
Partyplaying: Yes

I had a lot of fun with Crystal Chronicles. I recommend that game to anybody who hasn't played it yet. Hopefully the upcoming Crystal Bearers for the Wii will be just as good!

"...since there's not much of a story..."

Well, in fact the game has one of the best stories so far (and one of the saddest endings too), the problem is that you need to read every poem at the beginning of each stage and at the end of every year, plus what NPC tell you while you travel from place to place.

But the final battle...it was one of the best final battles that I have ever played...me and my friends, at the middle of ....

*SPOILERS*

...nowhere fighting against Raem, watching your friends flying by your side , and getting erased from your memory if you were not quick enough to help them...and againts a boss 20 times bigger than you, casting the best spells and listening to the brilliant final battle song...

Great game.

10/10

I thought it was okay, but then I got bored with it.

Would of helped if I had 3 GBA owning friends to play with...proberly.

What I meant with a bad story is that it was repeated over and over again. I agree that the story is really good and they should be able to make an entire "proper" FF game on it, but it wasn't appealing enough for just one person playing it.

Another problem is that the characters don't have any personality at all, it's the player that talks for it. It works in games like Zelda where the other characters that are in the story keeps it going. But since the NPC's in FFCC isn't deep at all you can't build on the good story that they have created.

We can just hope that Crystal Bearers on the Wii will be better. It was Gamedes!gners Studios first game after all, the start could be worse indeed.

Does the GBA link-up work on the Wii?

Oh, and nifty avatar/sig, Joxe. Couldn't agree more. ;)
