Obviously it's The Simpsons for me 8)
I haven't seen the later seasons but they aren't meant to be as good...
I just stick to the DVDs.

Family Guy.
I really like the old Simpsons episodes. But those from the last 5-6 years are just not right.

The Simpsons. That one episode of Family Guy where they take the **** out of Dr. Stephen Hawking has put me off that series forever.

I'm not voting, love them both equally. Family Guy is so politically incorrect that it makes me gasp sometimes. Obviously that's why I love it. The Simpsons is a TV institution, and has, for long stretches, been the best-written show on TV, possibly ever.
Still, I'm not picking sides in this one, only wondering why there isn't an option for South Park (manatees!) and all of the above.

Simpsons. It's got so many great episodes.
Anyone see the 400th and the 401st?
Thought the 400th would suck because it was hyped up, and I loved it. The 401st rocked too!
Can't wait for next weeks, looks hilarious.
Bart as a father and getting married LMAO XD
Homer. Bart don't worry, I just know you're gonna be a great father.
Bart. Thanks dad, and someday I know you will be too.
LMFAO XD

I like them both, but The Simpsons hasn't been running for a while for nothing. So The Simpsons edges out on top. :)

I was actually surprised to see The Simpsons win this poll, I thought people would vote Family Guy as I've heard so many people moaning about The Simpsons lately. I was wrong!

Er... If it's the one I think he means. Then it's not Stephen Hawking.
Do you mean the one where the 2 majorly disable people have sex?
Yeah, love the show. Hate that ep. It's just not funny.
The first one where he repeated "boom shackalackalacka boom" was great. But that just wasn't funny IMO.
Wasn't offended by it (It takes ALOT to offend me), it just wasn't funny.

Yep, that's the one. It was blatently obvious they were taking the mick out of him though. Put me off the series alltogether.

No, there are actually other people in that state bud. They were taking it out of the disease entirely. Not just Hawking (Which is worse, I know, i'm just pointing it out).
Also, don't swear.

Yep, obviously. I know there are numerous people with motor neuron disease all over the world, but it was blatently obvious who they were mocking. He is one of my heroes, so I didn't take too kindly to the ''joke''.
Oh, and would you be so kind as to point out where I swore?

Look at your post, you type "mick" did you?
No. That's where you swore.
Anyway, no idea if that one's allowed here, we allow minors. But some people class it as a major, that's why I done it just incase. So you're not gonna get banned or anything.
I still don't personally think that it was meant to be SH, because the guy's a para-athlete in one ep, and a teacher in the other. SH is the world's smartest man.
So there's a difference.
But yes, I don't take kindly to people taking the mick out of him, he's a cool guy, and he's a huge Simpsons fan. His eps are 2 of the best :D

Eh?
'Taking the mick' is a saying, exactly like 'taking the ****', but less ruder. I don't know if it means something totally different round your parts, but it's certainly not considered swearing here. I could have said something along the lines of 'It's a smegging disgrace' but I didnt?

Taking the ****, surely, is a colloquialism not really considered incendiary language. I.e. it's not swearing, which is why I'm feeling free to use it here.
If that gets to you Demon, go look in another thread around here were the guy just used...; no argument about that one.

Yes, I know. That's why I edited it to the cleaner version. Mick.

Yep, just spotted it and tagged it iNma.
And I never said it got to me, i'm a major gutter mouth. I just said that minor swearing is aloud and some people kick off when they see "****". But, in the words of Mills Lane "I'll allow it" :)

Family Guy is good, but The Simpsons at its best can't be topped. It's a shame seeing how much it's plummeted in quality over the years, but I liked the movie, and that quote Demon gave from a recent episode made me chuckle

The dad one?
Brill. The ep was funny too.
Some of my fave eps though are things like "The Springfiled Files", "Hurricane Neddy", "Cape Fear" and I don't know the names to some of them, but things like where they legalise gambling and where Lisa makes her own Newspaper. Mainly just for one line that Willie says.
"Aye, in my latest issue I review all the new Tractors. THEY'RE ALL ****E!" LMAO XD
But I do know the names of about 17 more that I like "Treehouse Of Horror I" etc...

when i got to uni, i was surprised at people's attitudes towards the simpsons... why is it cool to hate the simpsons nowadays? I knwo there were disappointments like 4 or 5 years ago, but i blame the media for overhyping (London episode and Ricky Gervais mainly). The simpsons has really picked itself up, and i loved the movie
Still love family guy, i heard they're doing a proper movie for family guy now

Gervais + Simpsons = BLOODY AWFUL!
It's a total Enigma.

Simpsons Season 1 to 6 anyday.
Family guy is just full of flashbacks like 'hey joe, this is just like the time when i went to ______ with ______'. It gets old.

I would like to say 2 words: Cartoon Wars.
Really: Family Guy is fun, but it's just mindless humor. I won't say it's stupid, or non-sense, it's just without any sense. Which may be also alright (not everyone can be as Parker and Stone), but you can't put Family Guy in the same room with The Simpson, probably they aren't even in the same 'house'.

Couldn't agree more neuzd - cartoon wars says it all. As much as I enjoy Family Guy, it can't come close to the era-defining genius that is The Simpsons.
