Yeah I would have given it one star as well, though I'm a big fan of the other Ecco games, this game completely lacks the atmosphere of the other games.

I think the main problem here is that the Ecco series was really never targeted towards children (apart from this game). Everything, in the other games, seems to be designed to appeal to an adult audience which was quite unusual for its time, the difficulty level and the presentation all have a certain level of maturity to it. So to make that into a children's game, I guess that wasn't the best idea, but then we're not meant to enjoy it since it's designed for children.

A cute dolphin on the cover of the box.. this is what all the little girlies with no gaming experience have bought.

And they never got past level 2....

until Ecco Jr. arrived. ;)
