Well, might as well start the topic.
So, do you think we ll see it outside of Japan?

I wouldn't hold my breath. There's no good reason why we shouldn't get it. Konami even went to the trouble of translating it into English for the recent PSP collection. But I have a feeling we're going to be denied. Those who are in charge of the Virtual Console these days have perfected the art of not giving us old school console fans what we want.

This is a tough one. On one hand, it's a famous "desired" import and a lot of people want it. On the other hand, VC imports don't usually have anything to do with demand.
Sincere question: what has the import release schedule looked like in Japan before the games get brought over here? Have all of the games we received as imports been released in Japan as normal releases ahead of time?

Are there any other examples of games coming over where a translation has been handled. No one will go back to the hard code of the PC engine version now.

well Sin & Punishment has minor translation done to the menus when it debuted on the VC. The original Legend of Zelda on the VC is also the 2003 Collector's Edition version which has a better translation of the Prologue. Since a translated version was already made for the PSP release I don't see why they couldn't just use that version for the VC release.

Perhaps because it isn't Nintendo? ._.
I also really really hope we get the game here in NA and Europe, but as much as I hate to say... I think Nintendo doesn't like us. You can stone me to death now, but I think this should be true at least concerning the VC which has seen very many better days.
If we get one Rondo of Blood game, then I think we get the SNES game, but not the TGX one.

You do realize that Europe have the better, earlier releases when it comes to the VC.
Anyway, I say nay @ the topic.

That's only in the US.

Dracula X doenst need minor translation does it. It needs massive translation.
If they chuck out yoshis cookie and expect us to get excited about it then I cant see where the priorities are.
Seems to me like the nintendo eu office is a bunch of tight fisted business men with no gaming experience.

I think we'll get TG-CD's Dracula X independent of whether or not we get the SNES version.
A) Hudson would get a cut in the case of the TurboGrafx version, and we can all tell that they're aggressively seeking profits on VC releases.
B) Hudson has actually been really good with releases. They advertise their releases ahead of time and have actually delivered. Likely, we'll know the exact date that Dracula X will debut.
c) It's an action adventure game, so relatively little translation is required.
d) It's one of the most popular, and most wanted games for the VC.

Dude, I would cut off all my limbs, and put them back on with duck tape just to play Rondo of Blood.

I've got a feeling Dracula X will come to the U.S. VC next month. It'd make perfect sense for Konami to release it alongside Order of Ecclesia. That must be the reason why we haven't got it yet: Konami waited until October due to Ecclesia hype.
And when it does hit, I will download it faster than you can say "Opposing Bloodlines".

Apparently everyone on this forum seems to think otherwise.
Did You Know?- The SNES version was actually a sequel to the original in Japan, albeit with the same storyline (think Castlevania to Super Castlevania IV).
Note- Castlevania IV and Suoer Castlevania IV ARE DIFFERENT GAMES (with the same storyline, if you could call those string of words a storyline).

To be fair, Firebrand posted that back in March/April before the recent rash of great games hit the VC. :lolo-spin:

True that part about his early postage, but I don't see what the recent games have to do with it. I only commented on what he said about Rondo Of Blood, nothing more, nothing less .

His whole comment was about not thinking we'll get Rondo because the VC gets no good games. Back in March/April, that was a convincing argument. That's what it has to do with it. :) Now, after seeing some effort put into quality VC releases, it is less obvious that Rondo won't get released here.

I agree with you on the post .
I voted on Rondo Of Blood more of beacause I hoped it would be here than I thought it would be here. Anyways, it may not be here thanks to:
1: It's on the PSP (you can unlock the original), so adding it on the Wii may take some of the appeal away from the PSP game (even though I admit it's not getting the appeal it deserves).
2: Konami MAY release Bloodlines or other Castlevania games first.
3: The Castlevania games on the VC/the PSP port/the original Rondo Of Blood may not garner enough sales to warrant a release on the VC (it's a cruel world where before/after Symphony Of The Night, Castlevania doesn't get ANY mainstream attention).
