Since nobody else made a thread about, i guess i should. This is basically Mario Party with RPG elements. It came out just yesturday. I was supposed to get it,but due to complications, I getting it tomorrow. There are those wierd event spaces. But, theres a catch. You battle monsters or other players if you land on their spaces. It's turn by turn fighting.
This is some gameplay from it.

O and did i mention you can horribly embarass your opponents if you beat them in battle. I should've said that earlier. You can change their face, name, and you can steal from them. It already sounds a lot better than Mario Party 8.
Here is a review from IGN

Apparently, it got an 8. It has to be good.

Looks intriguing and worth a rent at least. A multiplayer where the matches can last months?! Ooooh...shame there doesn't appear to be any online support for this.
Atlus's Wii party game is also the best RPG on the system.
I suspect that Mr Jogurt may have words to say about that claim...

I suspect anyone who's played a decent assortment of games would take issue with that. What a strange claim to make.

This looks like a really good game, but so far there's no release date confirmed for the EU. :( Does anyone know if they have plans of bringing it out here?

I don't have anyone to play with so I'll pass, but it looks enjoyable with friends.

I've heard someone else make that same claim, so it might not be so far fetched.
I haven't played it though, so I wouldn't know.

And I'm sure the people who made that claim haven't played Radiant Dawn. ;)

After playing the game for a day, I realized that the game is fun but it can horribly screw you over. You can sell all your gold, land, possesions/soul to get the power of darkness for 13 turns which makes you almost invincible. I am at chapter 3 so far. And wouldn't Radient Dawn be a strategy game?

Got the game last night and this game can be described in 2 ways...
Either as an "arcade RPG" where there's a concise storymode, the story isn't very deep and the game engine is pretty "entry level" (it does have some nice nuances that help you get ahead if you know RPGs). Or it can be described as a "starter" tabletop RPG, much akin to that old Milton Bradley game "HeroQuest." Where it's basically an RPG by design, yet one that's easy enough for your elementary school age little brother/sister to play (and still allow the session to be enjoyable).
The game is best played with human competition. Though, single player Dokapon Kingdom is WAY MORE enjoyable than single player Mario Party (but that's not saying much). The single player enjoyability is kinda hard to describe, as it's based on what you make of it. For example, there's a multitude of jobs to be unlocked in this game, however, if you unlock an advanced job in one session it does NOT carry over into subsequent playthroughs. This can seem frustrating for some, but I enjoy this little quirk. It makes the game a "go nowhere" RPG where I don't have to invest chunks of my: life, concentration, and time to enjoy it like most RPGs (I'm looking at you Disgaea) and it also solidifies the fact that this game is designed to be more in line with arcade style games.
As i mentioned in the chat applet, if you have friends irl to play a game with for a few hours or if you're a fan of RPGs, GET THIS GAME!
Sidebar question stuff: If you're short on controllers there's an option to do one controller for numerous players (so don't use "I only have 2 wiimotes" as an excuse). And you can change human controlled players to AIs and vice versa mid-game, so there's no pressure if you have people coming and going in the middle of a round due to having real lives (as in the case of our house).

Fire Emblem is a tactical RPG.
I'm pretty sure Okami, Super Paper mario, Twilight princess, FFMLAAK, and Dragon Quest are RPG's as well, so unless you've never actually played an RPG before, I can't see people thinking this game would be the best RPG on Wii.

Okami is an adventure game, Super Paper Mario is a stat-based platformer, Twilight Princess is an adventure game, FFCC:MLaaK is a simulation, and I don't know what Dragon Quest game you mean.
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon is a dungeon-crawlin' RPG, though. I reckon it's better than Dokapon too. ;)

But those games do have RPG elements, but i guess if you base games like that, most games would be RPGs.
I was talking about Dragon Quest Swords: The twin towers and the masked mirror, or something to that matter.

IIRC its an on-rails action RPG ( you swing the wiimote to attack enemies I believe

In my opinion it's definitely not the best RPG on the system, that would goto Disgaea (which is so good that it transcends the rankings of other consoles, jk).
But then again, saying that something is the best is totally an opinion, hence why there are so many restaurants near my house claiming "Best Breakfast In So. Cal" or "Greatest Chinese Food In Town."

Well the RPG stuff isn't the biggest part of the game so it really shouldn't be the best RPG on wii. I heard Castle of Shinigami is pretty good though.

O i guess it is. My bad. Well the best RPG will be Tales of Symphonia Dawn of the New World(cause Baroque didnt do so good and neither did most wii RPG's.)

I don't even bother with story mode anymore.
My roommates and I are trying to finish our 300 week game. So far we're only at week 40 or 50 something. And I'm hiding in the cave from my idiot friend who made himself the Prince of Darkness/Dark Lord or whatever.

story mode is pointless. There are just special missions from the king to do and killing overlord rico. I don't have much friends who would want to play this game though.
