I know that with the Virtual console that one of the systems is the N64 but still thare many games that are not released on virtual console making it qiute worthwhile to get a preowned if you wanted to .

While i got my N64 a few years ago for some preowneds before anything about the VC was annouced by nintendo & i got a 10 good games for it within the past few years .

The past 6 months i got 3 of the 2 of had there original boxes & instructions which is a double bonus .
I got them from 2 differnt shops one a Cash Converters The other a gametraders .
While gametraders are mor expensive of the 2 but still you mmight get a few good deals like $60.00au for pokémon Stadium 2 box & instructions included the only copy i seen since they were first released meaning its a rare find.

If it wasn't for the saved file allready on it i could have swon its brand new .

While Cash Converters on the other hand offers games between $10.00-$5.00 au compared that to the VCS $12.00 au basicaly a bargaing copared to GameTraders .

But im wondering if any of you still collect N64 game ?

I don't, but I've seen a pile of them in various classifieds. If I decided to start collecting (and had the expendable money) I could start up a half-decent collection pretty quickly.

In my area, It's hard to find them. I have thirty something 64 games now, but need more. All the stores that used to sell them were closed. There's one last store I know of.... I'll check there later.

Start checking yard sales and classifieds. :)

I'm collecting N64 games and I've got 117 complete games, including some rare finds, like the pal versions of Starcraft 64 and Snowboards Kids 2, Tony Hawk 3, Dancing Stage Disney, Sin & Punishment, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Bomberman 64 (the japanese game, which is a game on its own...our Bomberman 64 is Baku Bomberman in Japan), Doubutsu no Mori (Animal Crossing), Goemon Mononoke Sugoroku, Shindou Super Mario 64 and Shindou Wave Race 64.

While the VC may get a few N64 games over the years, there's many I just think it won't. And so whenever I see those rare N64 games walking around a comic store or LAN center, I always pick them up.

To date I only have about 8 N64 games, but that's because I only buy the games I really like. Still looking for that elusive Mischief Makers and Jet Force Gemeni. Others like Pilot Wings and Blast Corps I can find nline easily, but I just don't feel like buying N64 games online. (Plus they're usually 20 dollars even for 'easy to find ones).

I still kick myself in the pants for not buying Mischief Makers back that one day about 3 years ago when I saw it at GameStop for TWENTY bucks. Then they stopped selling N64 games. So dumb.....

Is Mischief Makers really that expensive in the States? Coz here you don't get more than five Euros when trying to sell it...a COMPLETE copy, that is.

Anyhoo, I sometimes still buy N64 games, though I m sticking to the stuff we ll never see on the VC, namely Rare and licensed titles...

I recently picked up some cheap N64 carts, 5 for Ł5 in a bundle, among them were Wave Race 64 and Body Harvest and some others I didn't really want. At that price you can't not buy them.

I also recently bought a complete-boxed copy of Mischief Makers, which I think I'll start playing this evening. That was Ł5 I think.

I have a reasonable N64 collection of about 20 games, some good, some not-so good. I'm always on the look out for cheap N64 games although they're getting harder to find in shops now.

Don't you need 64DD to play Doubutsu no Mori?

@ Angelic Lapras King: Sorry, but I haven't played it so far. A pal of mine sold it a while ago for a reasonable price (and it was complete with the playing cards that came with it) so I just bought it even though I have nowhere near enough time to play it...or most of my other games for that matter.

@ fierce_deity: No, why should I? It's an N64 game, not a 64DD game.

Not really i only play on my N64 at least 3 months every year or so to play the games i enjoyed through my childhood. Though i should get the likes of F-Zero and Pilotwings 64 just to see what the games are like.

Oh sorry, I thought it was. Did you get it off eBay? I can't find it anywhere else.

Shame. I did hear NGE64 pushed the N64 hardware quite far.

Ah well, maybe I ll import it someday, or hope Ninty crack some deal with ADV and/or the Japanese Animators or whatever...

WalMart up the road had a couple N64 games out today. I was kind of surprised.

Pokémon Puzzle League, sealed, $70
Pokémon Snap, sealed, $50

Really? I remember Hey You Pikachu and Tony Hawk had hard times selling, so they were at Target until last year.

Jogurt the Yogurt

I was surprised that they would be so expensive. Especially since they were old, they are both on the VC, and the boxes weren't in great shape (even though they were still sealed). So they wouldn't have been huge prizes for collectors, but the average gamer certainly wouldn't pay those prices for them.

I bet I could have talked them down.

They re bound to go down in price once they realise no one is buying them. ;)

One would think the price would have already been marked down, considering they've probably been there for what, 8 years already? :)

Fierce_Deity835

That is weird, they would sell at $60 I believe, when they first came out. Why would it be $10 more?

KeeperBvK

Coz sealed collectors are a crazy sort of people. ;)
...but not when it comes to games like Pokémon Snap. Even sealed it's nowhere near a true collector's piece.

Well i found Pokémon Stadium 2 preowned in mint condition for $60.00 au .
You most probably thinking “what silly fool would buy that ?” .
Well it was me that bought it .
Well i knew the price but i didn't realised the value until i got home because i was over my head a bit of such a rare find that i didn't think about it .

But still im happy with the game & loving it .

I've been playing Mischief Makers. It's another great game from Treasure and one of the best games I've played this year.

But it's ruined today because my N64 has started randomly freezing. Anyone got ideas why this might be? I don't know whether it's the game or the N64 but it's going to be hard to test because it's unpredictable.

I own about 20 N64 games that I bought during the 32/64-bit era, and they're all I want. I'd maybe pick up Evangelion or Custom Robo if I saw it, but I can't think of anything else.

Try playing anouther game in it for a while if that fails try cleaning the connectors by blowing on them if that fails you likely got a dead N64 :( .

Don't blow on your connectors, though. Too much moisture. Use an actual cleaning device.

The sound skips occasionally as well, other games seem to work fine so I'm pretty sure it's the game. The cart is perfectly clean, I'd try cleaning the contacts but they're already spotless. It's still just about playable, as long as it doesn't get worse I should finish the game.

This time last year I began selling my huge N64 collection. I'd traded over Ł5k of N64 gear and I had accumulated 142 different games. 132 boxed complete and 10 loose carts. I think there are about 160 pal games, and I want them all! I sold the lot to go traveling, but now that I have finished studying I think I'm going to start collecting again.

Blimey! You're right! There are some on the wiki list I haven't even heard of!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nintendo_64_games

How am I gonna get games like Indiana Jones and Top Gear Hyper Bike? I've cruised ebay for N64 games for a couple of years, and I've never seen games like these.

KeeperBvK

Indy has never seen a pal release, though. Rumors about some rare copies seem to stay all over, but it actually has only been released in the US...and neither Europe nor Australia.

There is a little retro game place next door to me called The Second Last Game Shop. They have all kinds of N64 stuff in stock, though I think it's all common.

Common or not I envy you!
Why do I have to be only 13!!!!!
I wasn't old enough to buy stuff without my parents getting in the way!
MUST remove PARENTS!

I don't think the parents are necessarily the problem, so much as the lack of a job and independent income. At least, that was my problem when I was 12. But I'd rather not have to work now. So hey! :)

Sounds a lot like GameTraders thats here in Australia were they once had a mega Sega console collection .
Megadrive mk1
Megadrive mk2
Master System mk1
Satun
And last not least a Dreamcast .
But still they do have a fare bit of N64 stuff even if its a but more expensive than cash converters .
