View Full Version : Do you think DS games are overpriced?

I was just looking at a couple of reviews for Boulder Dash Rocks and, as it brought back memories of playing the game on my old Commodore 64, thought I'd check out it's price online. Seems like it's a full pricer in the UK (£29.99). I'd somehow assumed that a lighter puzzle game like this, with a 100 levels or so, would have been at budget price (£19.99).

While I love the DS and it is currently my main gaming platform - I have a 360, Wii, pc, and PSP - I do find that the games are not as good value for money as say, pc games, which can typically contain tens or hundreds of hours of gameplay for the same price.

So, overall, I feel that some/many DS games are a bit overpriced for the amount of gaming hours they contain. Hasn't stopped my buying loads of DS games, though - I just wish, sometimes, they were a bit cheaper in general. Any thoughts? Comments?

I think they're at a good enough price, most that I've seen lately range from
£19.99 - £24.99.

As with everything, it's worth what you're willing to pay for the games. I don't have any problems with the price point of most games.

In Europe they're overpriced, in America they're not. In America they can be as much as half the price. Since the DS is region free you should do what I do, import them all (if you can).

O contraire, there are some differences, and if the game is not Online, you can forget multicard multiplayer with domestic versions.

But then it's great for people who despise Online and any form of Multiplayer.

Online works on import games. I've never done multicard multiplayer on DS because I don't know that many people with DS's, but I guess you could convince your friends to import, it would benefit them as well.

Please re-read.

It does mater with games which are not online. Try playing New Super Mario Bros. with a US and UK Copy together (only Single Card Download Play will work).
