This movie looks absoloutely awesome, it's done with someone with a video camera filming everything thats happening, and the biggest mystery is whats terrorising New you city.

I think the monster is Rosie O'Donnel.

Seriously, though, it does look like an interesting movie.

The whole point of that is because the whole movie is shot by a camcorder that presumably the main character was holding so as to record the tragedy for future generations to see. Think of it as a high budget Blair Witch Project.

Blair Witch Project. With a 30 Million Dollar Budget. Think of the memes...

Perhaps its a Leprechaun. The Hint is in the Title! What do Americans (and to a lesser extent the rest of the world) think of when Clovers are mentioned? Well, If they start their day with a balanced breakfast the your answer is Lucky The Lucky Charms Leprechaun! Think of It. Think of the unimaginable destruction and carnage he can cause with his Green Clovers, Pink hearts and Blue Crescent Moons of Pure unrestricted Horror in their Sugary Marshmellow Goodness.

Or perhaps its Just Mothera or something cheap like that.

No, Wait! It's King Bubsgonzola! King Bubsgonzola Supreme!

Fine, But boy is your face going to be red if It IS King Bubsgonzola!

I'd be pretty 'meh-ed' if it was a Giant Insect (Or to be More Blanketive 'Insect, Arachnid or Creepy-crawly), Because Giant Insects destroying cities has been done to death in 1950's B movies. The Creator said that "America Needed a Monster, And Not King Kong, Because King Kong is Adorable" So to have a Spider or something would be pretty derivative. Now a Whale - That would be original, sea monsters have been done before, like the Kraken, But I've never seen/heard of the concept of a monster Whale destroying a city. I've heard rumour it might be a Giant Lion, But a Lion would be pretty wierd - Most people associate them with Honour and Majesty, so it wouldn't really be conceptually fullfilling to have a Giant Lion destroying a city. But if it were any of the clichéd Ideas, The film could still be awesome.

I'm sorry, but I really, really enjoyed the 1950s monster movies. Tarantula is one of my all time favorite films, so if this turns out to be a giant bug movie I will be eternally greatful. There hasn't been a good one in a long time.

My cloverfield review

I don't know if I could call 25 millions dollars a low budget movie, as you said it was in your review. The only reason it wasn't much higher than that was because they used no-name actors. It was an okay movie I suppose, not scary though.

Edit: Yes, I speed read. Also, nicely written review.

Yeah, that's true. I guess I meant comparatively low budgeted, at least in relation to most hollywood blockbusters.

Well I think it would. I think that Cloverfield was a kickass movie that has enough respectability to not be made into a franchise. I'd love for it to be that abstract flick that was never expanded on or unjustly capitalized on. I think it is a big step for the industry, to make a movie like Cloverfield, and then not mess around with sequels. It is a fleeting masterpiece.

Ok, I don't normally bring dead threads like this back up but this time i had to, because i was looking on the internet and watching my cloverfield DVD when i picked up on two things.

THIS DOES CONTAIN SPOILERS AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE FILM MAY NOT UNDERSTAND.

Ok here it goes -

I think there is going to be a cloverfield 2. I will tell you why. Ok so the films ends and beth and rob die we assume. Then the tape of the camcorder cuts to a scene where rob and beth are on a fairground wheel. When it cuts we see out of the carriage window. We see the sea in the distance and the fairground below. This we only see for a short time before it swivels to rob and beth. BUT..... If you look into the sea at the right side of the screen you see something drop from the sky. If you don't believe me get the DVD and check it or look it up online. We could assume this is the monster dropping from the sky, who knows. The second thing is noticed was much more hidden. If you stayed right to the end of the film there was a clip of someone speaking for about 5 seconds, played normally it means nothing. But i looked this up online and when reversed you can clearly hear the words 'IT'S STILL ALIVE'.

Below Is a spoiler about the above spoiler, It is mostly spectulation from various sources on the internet. Highlight it to read:

The thing that falls into the water is a satellite from the Slusho! corporation, who make soft drinks, Rob's brother is seen wearing a Slusho T-Shirt in the film. Anyway, the Tagruato drilling corporation is hired to drill the satellite out of the sea, thus waking the monster.

I did a lot of research about this film before I went to see it, pretty much finding out everything EXCEPT for anything actually involving the film...

However, a sequel has been hinted: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloverfield#Sequel

Is slusho and tagruato real, and how did the satellite fall.

And why is it so confusing.

Also what is that jamieandteddy thing all about, what has that got to do with all of it.

Also, I think that that chick Jamie is Rob's brother's girlfirend or something. And she is heading to the party.
