Hi All, I like my multiplayer games. I have Bomberman 93 on TG16 and play it a lot with friends. Any good NES titles? Bubble Bobble? I mean something that can be enjoyed with a few of the lads around and some cans!

Bubble Bobble's definitely a good start. Maybe Excite Bike too.

Ice Hockey or Double Dribble would be good candidates too.

Heard DD is awful.
Hockey is alright. But seeing as every game takes 21 minutes of playing time (Min. It can be set to higher), and then about 9 mins of stoppages from goals or for fights, or Zamboni's or etc...
Then I find forced 30 min games a bit... Crap.
I much prefer my sport games in short blasts, especially when playing with a bunch of mates taking turns.
So pretty much the only 2P games I'd recomend for the NES, are Super Contra/Contra II and Bubble Bobble.

You never said anything about two players at one time.

When did I say you had to take turns to play it?? In future be more specific about what kind of game you're looking for and don't be so naive. SMB3 is a multiplayer game, you didn't say what type of multiplayer game e.g. if it can be played in turns or simultaneously.

I presumed by the fact that I mentioned Bomberman you would have an inkling of what I was talking about. Obviously not. Don't call me naive.

Well you clearly presumed wrong when someone suggested SMB3. I already did, I'm afraid...

Mario Bros. was quite some fun back in the day with a friend.
Mario & Yoshi, Ballon Fight, as already mentioned.
Wario's Woods if you like Puzzles, NES Open (Golf).
And is'nt Wrecking Crew also 2P Simultanously?

Yeah, Wrecking Crew is getting good reviews and I missed out on that one back in the day. Thanks for that.

Wrecking Crew isn't a simultaneous multiplayer game but Super Mario Bros. 3 is, kind of,
because on the level select map you can push your button when the other player is on your space
and then you get sucked into a 2 player-simultan-battle round, where you can steal each others cards
(and therefore it can be considered a simultaneous multiplayer game).
But most people don't seem to know about it.

Well, one game I absolutely loved but never hear anybody else ever talk about was Konami's, Jackal.
When it comes out on the VC, its an auto-buy for me.

Shortay did though. Because I've spoken to him about it. So Short, had you just said that, you'd have outright won the arguement
I didn't mention it though, because Mario Bros. SUCKS! And the SMB. 3 version of it, is even worse. Because it's just the first level.

No, the Mario Bros. mode is worse than Mario Bros. because it's only one level.
And Mario Bros. sucks as it is. Let alone when it's been Urban Championised.

Oh ok. Even if the mario bros. part sucks it's still a nice little add in

Bubble Bobble ... is much better than Ice Climber.
Gameplay is smoother and funnier and it has 100 (rather easy) stages instead of the Climbers (more challenging) 32 stages.
And I think Mario Bros. is a pretty fun co-op game as well, but solo player can't be compared to other Mario games.

There are some variants (2 I think).
But the Battle Mode in Super Mario Allstars SMB3 was fun, almost better then the GBA Mario Bros.

yeah, was a bit disappointed too, seeing the NES version of SMB3 is without the battle mode of the All-Stars version.

I think it probably will, Nintendo know people would get it regardless of downloading the originals. I would get it anyway.

Yeah, I would too. The SMB remake was okay, but the SMB2 and 3 really added quality to the games.

Yeah, I've got SMB, SMB Lost Levels and SMB3 but I've been putting off gettting SMB2 because I think it looks great in All Stars.

I would download all stars even if it will be 2500 points I'll have what 4 games on there with updated graphics and stuff. It would also give me more space for games.

I still play Ice Hockey and TEcmo Bowl today, consider them.:)
Also, if you like Bomberman 93, Battle Lode Runner has a more fleshed out (But not quite as much fun) multiplayer, similar graphics, and a stage editor.

Yeah. The AS version rocked.
And if they now released AS, I would be livid.
I fail to see why they didn't chuck the 5 of them out at 500, 500, 500, 600 and 800 but then also chucked AS up for 3,500. So it'd be a straight 600 points more for the upgrades.
I'd have payed it for bloody multiple save files on SMB. 3 and for the Bros. fighting.

I had a lot of fun with the original Mario Bros., but I guess I'm not hard to please when it comes to Mario games.
For multiplayer on the NES I go to Super C or the original Contra (when it finally comes out). Fun to be had there.

In terms of Super C, I don't think I've ever had as much fun getting completely owned on every level.
Okay, so I can manage until level 4. Then it's just a bushwhack.

Ice Climber is an EXCELLENT 2P NES game. Try it out.
Oh, and Super C is possibly the greatest two player shooter on the NES! Awesome download!
