Just checked the official swedish nintendo site, and was kinda suprised that they put up an article about the C64 support on VC this soon. After reading it through I stumbled across a very hinting scentence:

"Varje Commodore 64-spel kommer att kosta 500 Wii Points att ladda ned, och spelen kommer att bli tillgängliga i Wii Shop Channel väldigt, väldigt snart."

Translated:"Every Commodore 64 game will cost 500 Wii Points to download, and the games will be availible in the Wii Shop Channel very, very soon."

This is very similar to what they wrote the same week that the Neo-Geo support was released.Neo-Geo: http://nintendo.se/notice/notice_read.asp?id=473&typ=arkiv, article written 2007-10-01, first game released 2007-10-05.

Commodore 64: http://nintendo.se/notice/notice_read.asp?id=551&typ=arkiv, written 2008-02-27, game released 2008-02-29?

Wow!

So, what other games are likely to appear since IK+ (System 3) and Uridium (Hewson) are announced?

System 3 published many classics, The Last Ninja-Trilogy and Flimbo's Quest considered the biggest ones.
Since they're still around (developed and published Super Fruit Fall for Wii) there are good chances, I think.

Hewson (not to be confused with Hudson) is a different story. They made classics like Paradroid, Gribbly's Day Out, Cybernoid, Nebulus, Zynaps and many well-known others. I don't know what happened to them, but it seems Commodore Gaming got the rights to their games.

Many of the old publishers (that developed the greatest C64 classics) are still working in the business:

Activision, Electronic Arts, Lucasfilm Games (aka Lucas Arts), Rainbow Arts (split into THQ, Factor 5, Bluebyte, Denaris Entertainment) and Ultimate Play the Game (aka Rareware) to name a few.

Good times for the VC indeeed.

Aww, but I want Kirby 64 this week. Can't it wait till next week? :(

No, it can't!

I would borrow you my PAL Kirby 64 cartridge if you weren't living on the other side of the earth. :p

A new console (I mean, a computer system) is a bigger addition for the VC than a non-import, non-rare, rather new game from 2001.

Why didn't you buy it 7 years ago? Kirby can wait until next week. :D

Because I only got into Kirby last year. :P

Maybe we ll get both? Proberly asking too much, but you never know...

Yeah, my prediction for this week: ;)

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards (N64)
IK+ (C64)
Paradroid (C64)
Uridium (C64)

But nah.. I'd rather follow the Japanese VC-line up and choose Custom Robo V2 instead of Kirby 64.

Spocker, I scouted trough the swedish Nintendo site (Nintendo.se) and didn't find such news, can you provide a link to the right site?

This is good news, I really hope that this is true and that the first VC C64 games will appear this friday (7th of March).

Ehm.
I really had a hard time not posting in this thread last week.
Joxe the C=64 will most likely come out in fall.

Read again Spocker message, anyway. You didn't understand the reasoning behind it. And let me assure you: it's not a problem of yours: Spocker has been just a little ingenuous.
