Mendez, you must stop looking at games on YouTube and making your mind up about them. The first two Bonks are really well-designed games, tremendous fun to play and so far possibly my most surprising downloads yet (I'd never played them before the VC). The levels, in the first one particularly, are a bit too long, but it's an easily forgivable flaw.
Practically been doing nothing but playing Bonk's Adventure the last few days. Had a few highly amusing goes at Revenge as well, but I'l wait until I've finished with Adventure until I immerse myself in that. It really is a flagship franchise for the TG and deserves the plaudits heaped on it.
By the by, Hudson released a remake of the first game for the GC in Japan a few years ago, shortening the levels slightly and polishing the graphics considerably, but keeping it essentially intact. Might hunt down a copy of that soon.

adventure is average but charming, while revenge really is a great game.

It sounds good though, I'll think about downloading it after my final exam on Monday!

I love the Bonk games. Bonk's Revenge is the better of the two out now and its be said here many times that Revenge is the best Bonk game in the series.

Should I buy Revenge first then? I'm easily dissapointed so getting the best one first might be better..

I have both of them. I liked them back when I first downloaded them, but the games are really, really slow and clunky. I regret downloading them.

I've played Bonk's Adventure now for a bit (into level 3), and, honestly, I'm underwhelmed. I'll have to play some more to completely make up my mind, but, so far, it seems that this may have been my only bad VC buy.
The game has some really strange orange tint to it, which was not at all discernible from the screenshots or video, the controls are a bit clunky at times, and the game seems a bit lackluster. Sure, it does have its imaginative parts, but I'm not entirely sure if those few are enough.

They also did that with Star Soldier... I want that. It doesn't play AT ALL like Star Soldier, think Star Soldier 5 (Vanishing Earth doesn't count), and you got it.

I've only played Bonk's Revenge which I bought because I heard better things, and found it a great, under rated game. So i'll probably try out the 3rd wen it comes out

I enjoyed Bonk's Adventure, not the greatest platformer in the world but worth the 600 points if you're a platform fan. Looks like I'll be getting Bonk's Revenge soon now you've all said it's better.

I just completed Revenge. That last boss was rather easy!
Nice game though. I think 5/5 is a little too high, I'd go for more of a 4/5 myself, but I still enjoyed it. A well designed, charming little platformer with a lot of character :D Although it could have done with proper multiple difficulties (As opposed to them being dependent on how many levels you do)

I saw some positive reviews for this one, so it was one of the first T16 games I picked up (since Australia got access to them late). Yeah... real disappointment. Everything is just so bland and slow...

I think the Games Really are Great. I got Bonk's adventure first and I thought It was brilliant, So, I got the second and the Third when They came Out, and I think all three are really Good investments, I completed Adventure and Revenge, And I thought that they were both Challanging, But beatable if you work at it, and I got through both of them without a Game Over. I really disaggree with the Idea that they are 'Bland' as such, they are really good Platformers, However I think that the second one (revenge) really messed up the Controls of Bonk's spining in Midair, as its a lot slower turning Him in Middair. But Once you Get past that The Game is a Blast.

Not only did I own a TurboGrafx-16, I still have mine. I have Bonk's Adventure and Bonk's Revenge as Turbochips (cartridges).
Both are fun and have very similar gameplay. Adventure is an easier game, but other than that, they are pretty similar.

Funny enough, my first Bonk games was Super Bonk for SNES. (Which was a great game.) Before Virtual Console I never got to play any TG-16 games, but I gotta say the Bonk games are really fun to play. I like both Adventure and Revenge. (Revenge is more of an improvement on the first though.) I haven't played the third one, and probably won't until I beat the first two.

The second is definently the hardest in the series, though I use the term lightly. The third is extremely enjoybale, however, It is clear that other than the dinosaur enemies, the prehistoric theme is gone. In Revenge you have to work through a Beach and in 3 you have to fight through a huge house (not unlike the one in Super Bonk). 3 definiently shares the most in common with Super Bonk.
