This time was quite fun. 9 people showed up and the cups have been the typical Mario kart mess one would expect. The top positions seems already established, but there are several challengers for the third place.
This is turning out fun, despite my really bad performances (I finished last 3 times in a row during the Leaf Cup).
We'll see how it will end, most likely next week (http://www.neuzd.org/games/sync.php).
5th round results:

notes
Unfortunately Jogurt lost connection after a couple of races, that's sad we only had one cup left and there was no chance to join again.
Anyway, the championship is over, the podium is for KnucklesSonic8, Trapster and Tull; congratulations to them and to anyone who participated.
I hope you enjoyed it as I did hosting it.
See you for the next edition or...something else.

Rules
- Choose the track to race on, according to the regular order of the tracks in the cup we're racing, so that everyone selects the same track.
- At the end of the cup, take note of your final position and points.
General Infos
I (neuzd) am hosting the championship, so once you're connected enter the room I created.
We'll be waiting for everyone to join before starting, while we're keeping ourselves in touch in the chat room ('http://www.neuzd.org/chatbox/'), we can decide to start if someone didn't show up for too long.
Don't be too late and if you can it will be wise to connect to the chat some times earlier.

Very important for those who stayed in the chat yesterday and kept chatting.
The next round is NOT tonight.
I forgot I already knew of a birthday party I must attend, I may also be able to get home for that time, but I'm not sure so, it will most likely be next Sunday.
In a couple of days I'll be updating for Round 2.

First post updated with details on round 2.
VERY IMPORTANT
Because Flamin Skull didn't show up at the championship and he's missing from the forums too since the week started, I think we need to wait for his confirmation.
I don't know why he's missing, he's generally online every second of the day, I hope there's nothing bad in his absence.
Keep yourself ready, but I hope you all agree in waiting for an answer from him.
Be also warned that from this time on, we're racing 2 cups per round (that's just another 15 minutes play, c'mon!).

That's your score. [EDIT: I just realized that the 8 was the only thing you knew about...well, the others are explained, read more carefully the first post]
Each cup counts as an event, and points are assigned to each player after the cup, considering their final position.
We're not using the points given during the cups because that pattern varies in relation of the number of the players.
For instance, the last cup we were in 7; who arrived 2nd in a race have received 10 points. If we were in 12 the seconds receives 12 points, though.
So because the number of the players may change from one round to another, it makes no sense to use those points.
Another reason is that the starting grid position is determined by the result in the previous race and this will get lost when moving to another cup, when the points are resetted.
The only thing that we could change about the scoring system is that i used that based on 12 players, while we are just in 9 for this tournament.
If we decide to change it (but I have stil to figure out how the points pattern is, in 9), we must decide it before the second round, and keep in mind that if we do so no one can enter the tournament later on.

12p scoring system is good. No need to cap the players yet imo.
Some one might join in on the fun ;)

No, the category is chosen based on the players experience, though I admit I don't know what's most important, if unlocking staff ghosts, having lots of points in multi, the cups you won or the ranking you have...
We raced our first cup in 100cc so, it seems unlikely that we do some mirror, I would vote for 150cc always, if I could.

Well, it should be done for each cup, but I found a simpler and faster method: taking a picture of the result screen.
But if something goes wrong, it's smart to have everybody know at least their final position and points.

I was able to keep track of my points and position after every race and my total after the Cup with great ease. I don't see why everyone else wouldn't be able to do the same.

Ok, round 2 went so damn good, it was the pinnacle of spectacular arcade racing madness, with multiple bananas sniper throws at every corner and spiked shells storms that hit every single player because we were any second of the race so close to each other that...what....you don't believe me?

If there's a virus on his computer, it would be a good idea not to use any products with it. Or his computer could be being fixed.

Oh, if you keep your questions related to the messages you quote it would be of great help, then.
Or say words like "Thank you" if someone answers a questions of yours; keeping quoting others' messages doesn't let us understand if your question has been answered and of you're moving into another discussion.
Bttomline: no one asked how do you connect to the Internet but since that is the same topic that we were talinkg before (kevin not connecting because of viruses on his PC) it generated confusion.

Hope he's fine then, I just worry when I try figuring out things for others and then not receiving (or not understanding, if that's the case) a response for my suggestions.
Anyways, first post updated with details for Round 3 as like as the results of each single cup we raced.
As you will see I didn't report the final points in the cups, I think that's important just if someone is tight with some other racers, but in that case even if I'm not showing the cup's points you will notice because of repeated +skipped position numbers and that several racers are receiving the same amount of points.
(Just to be clear, this still didn't happen as today)
[EDIT]
The current standings have been updated too.
I found out I forgot to assign the gold/silver/bronze points for the Star Cup (you know, the numbers in the second set of brackets)
Now fixed.

I know psx, but think that here it's 1:00 in the night and of course I'm gonna work tomorrow. I'm waking up way later than you, but as you surely understand I had to choose an hour that was ok for everyone.

It's not easy to find an hour which is suitable for everyone.
Think that in the US it's afternoon. If you work as I understood could you race during afternoons? Because i surely can't. And we were lucky to find our American pals to be available at this time.
We decided for this time several weeks ago. I proposed some different times and this was chosen because everyone could make it in a way or another.
I repeat, it will be 1:00 AM down here, and I assure it's no fun to wait so late.

As always, we're waiting a bit before starting.
As you guys noticed, I generally set up the room at the very last moment so I can see when somone gets online and so reducing the chances of people losing the cup for very few seconds.
