Crash Team Racing!

Nintendo's never been able to match up with Naughty Dogs finest. Naughty also PWNED the Mario Party games with the sublime Crash Bash.

Fantastic racing with not a flaw. The Carts are proper Carts! The boost system works sooooo much better. The weapons are fairer (You rarely get bad weapons when losing, meaning anyone can win). But even if they are unfair, if you've got skill, you can claw your way up without them.

Last night I was losing and my weapons weren't upgraded, so they were sucky. And I pulled my way back to 1st using the mini boosts :D

But this has got me worried. CTR is 4P but required a multitap due to the PSX only having 2 ports. Well, the PS3 can have 7! Controllers/players, yet it won't let me play 4P CTR.

So does this mean that 4P SNES games like Super Bomberman 2 won't work with 4P's on the Wii?

With a lil messing around 4P is possible.

You need to reassign your controllers to ports 1, 3, 5 and 7 :D

Yeah, I know.

It was that game that had a horrible online. A weapons system that wasn't balanced (I often got a Banana, in 6th. Even when I was in a "Cart" like the Banisher, which has a full items bar). And 24 things that looked nothing like Carts.

It was good, but I've played better.

Crash Team Racing isn't a terrible game! There are just a few things that hold me back from saying its the BEST kart game
Pros
*The only enjoyable kart game on PS1
*No CPUs that are ten times faster then you
*You can do a single race (Why didn't Nintendo put in a quick race option on Mario Kart 64? Leaving that out is just stupid!)
Cons
*It's a takeoff of Mario Kart
*Annoying voice acting
*Some hasards that can put you in 6th place when you are 1st
*Crash Nitro Kart and Crash tag team racing suck
*I can't play it on my Wii!:(:lolo:

Another Con is bad mascots. Just like Diddy Kong Racing, without enjoyable mascots there is no point to cart racing. The best characters come from the Mario universe.

I have a lot of fond memories of Crash Team Racing, I think I agree with Demon that it is just about the best 'Mario Kart' style racer out there, but I haven't played it for years though and I have no idea how well it has aged.

But fill me in here, how was this released yesterday? Was there a re-release or something on some platform?

That's strongly opinionated. I'd take some of the Crash guys over DK, Wario, Toad etc... Anyday.

PSN. I think it's aged really well. ALOT! Better than MK 64.

I agree it completly owned the Mario Kart games. Mario Kart DS is good but Crash Team Racing just rules all mascot racers. Im a fan of mario kart but i spent many more hours on Crash Team Racing and i actually never unlocked everyone. I missed like 2 characters which you unlocked thru time trials cause i could never do them back then. I agree 100% with everything demon has said though. And if everyone else disagrees then oh well. We each have our own opinions.
