I think being deaf would have no effect on you playing the game. Well, there are little things like you won't hear your animal's songs and the clock bells (but that's pretty moot).

However, I think you may not enjoy it because you're an adult with a family and REAL responsibility. Animal Crossing seems to be more a discipline trainer for kids or a time killer for house wives and the unemployed. Or weirdos like me that enjoy decorating a digital house with quirky stuff and having lots of digital friends.

You won't hear certain bugs, so that'd be a bit of a hindrance on bug catching.

Er....this will sound stupid since I've never had this problem with any other game but where IS the friend code for City Folk? I have the game but I can't find it anywhere.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found it. My code is: 0388-2286-9341. My name is Matt and the town is called Greatown and I have Apples.

Whenever you add someone, it asks for the other person's town's name.
Whether it's necessary or not is up in the air.

And I guess my fruit won't grow back until Wednesday, so I don't think anyone would want to come to my town at the moment.

I think a person has to be online so they can open up their gate, but I could be wrong.

You cannot visit a Wild World town from City Folk.

You can import characters from DS to Wii, but that's it.
