I am RAPIDLY going off my wii

No console is great after a year. The 360 wasn't either. Wait for the holiday madness to start (Galaxy, Prime 3, Brawl, etc.), if that doesn't make you happy then you can legitimately complain.

Post a list of Wii games that are out now, then what 360 games were out at this point. Then say that the 360 didn't have a great first year.

I was worrying about the Wii when I got mine in mid-March, but RE4: Wii Edition is/was absolutely brilliant, (even moreso condsidering I have never played it on any other platform) and the releases that'll be here by December will be really fantastic. :)

I used to turn on my wii for five minutes then turn off. But you just got to get into the right game Zelda paper Mario, metriod coming soon galaxy and brawl.
The wii is getting better...slowly.

I agree with you completely up to now, up until now the Wii has been a real let-down and nowhere near as good as the Gamecube was at this stage.

But I'm holding out for a while longer, things could be getting better with NiGHTS, Metroid Prime 3, Super Paper Mario, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros Brawl all around the corner. I won't be getting a 360 this year because of those games. The DS wasn't great in its first year either.

Well, With Galaxy, Brawl and Corruption coming out, as well as the confirmation of Mario Kart Wii, you will have a lot to look forward to. I don't blame you for getting an Xbox 360, Its a good system, and I want to get one as well, but the Wii really is the best system at what it does, and it's going to prove that soon enough if it hasn't already.

And let's just not tout only the first-party titles. There'll also be bunch of promising third-party games out this holiday season: Zack & Wiki, Geometry Wars, Tomb Raider, MySims, Thrillville, Guitar Hero III, Manhunt 2, NiGHTS, Nitrobike, Umbrella Chronicles...

I personally don't think the Wii would have lasted without the internet channel. That's what mostly keeps me coming back to it.

Personally, I think it's due to the virtual console. I've certainly spent a much bigger chunk of time on these awesome retro games than the few Wii titles I have.

And since I can always pull out my DS, which has become a very complimentary gaming gadget, I'm never short of gaming goodness. =)

I agree with the OP. I'm the same way. I loved it for about 3 months, and then i just got bored as can be with it. I've recently gotten a 360, which I adore. I'm considering selling the wii, but I'm not ready to give up on it just yet.

It's the for VC games that i keep coming back to the wii. Except for Wario ware (and zelda at launch, but i finished it), I hardly ever touch my other wii games.

Still playing Wario Ware (sporadically), MSCF (a fair bit against my brother now he has a wii) and Big Brain Academy (I'm an 'A' brain these days!). Also dipping in to Marvel: Ultimate Alliance now and again for a retread of some of the comic missions. Underrated game. Of course Wii Sports gets wheeled out every time we have visitors!

For me the VC was the icing on the cake. Games I loved and games I missed growing up available - what more would you need?

Most would call me a 'lapsed' gamer - I rarely get more than an hour to cram my gaming into and the wii offers games perfect for that timescale.

You guys are right as well. The Wii hasn't been available for a year yet - it's going to pick up!

Yeah I'm only playing vc games at the moment. But I'll be back on a lot more when the good games come out. And I still have to get twilight princess and metriod 3. And to the guy who is thinking of selling his, don't the wii will get better. And personally i prefer wii over xbox 360.

Alone: Super Paper Mario (this is the main game i'm playing. i'm in chapter 8 and try to beat this tonight)

With Friends: Mario Strikers Football Charged, Big Brain Academy, Mario Party 8 these games always switch the disc drive if my friends come along.

VC Alone: ActRaiser (tried to beat that boss today twice - failed again)
Gain Ground (beaten it some days ago, now trying HARD MODE)
Mario's Super Picross (played the first stages - great game! japanese text is a bit odd, but nothing to prevent you from understanding this game - manual is in english for people that don't understand the picross rules)
Wrecking Crew (played a few rounds - in the pipeline)
Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (just played it and got to 1-4. very nice :D in the pipeline for now)

And the latest game I've just beaten was Gain Ground.

Now if that would be all if there weren't my DS.
The latest game I have beaten on it was Phoenix Wright: Justice for All.
And then there's Contact, Wario Master of Disguise and Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland waiting for me to be played.

I have much to play within the next two weeks until Sin & Punishment appears and.. Landstalker... and Super Metroid, Forever Blue, Metroid Prime 3 and.. hell this machine called wii is coming down like an avalanche....

Getting a chance to play the amazing Paper Mario has made the console a worthy purchase for me alone...
The releases are a bit dry, but WarioWare and Excite Truck still have me going in short bursts, and I still haven't finished Twilight Princess.
I badly want Galaxy, Umbrella Chronicles and Brawl, once those come out the console will be twice as good. :cool:

My Wii is my main system, I play everyday with it. I love the games that I have, and also the VC releases. Even WiiSports is a blast to play to me.

I have never considered buying a xbox360, I'm happy with my Wii and the games that will be released soon.

The excessive failure rate on the 360 is the only reason i havent gotten one. its a great system and there are alot of games id play on it but i really dont want to deal with a system shutting down after dumping so much money into it. Most of my game time is on the Wii, the rest is on my DS,.. and i watch movies on the PS3 :cool:
