I believe it is "Does anybone have an NES for sale?
Also, www.ebay.com (http://www.ebay.com). You wouldn't expect the retro loving community here to want to give away a console with such nostalgic appeal, right?

In the UK people also only eat crumpets. I don't care. It isn't like he couldn't figure out to add the .co.uk anyway.

Hell, I'm not British, so I don't care.
I would recommend that you get the toaster and not be tempted to go for the toploader. But that's my opinion.
I don't have one, So I can't really help...

He means you buy a good toaster and put NES game cartridges in it to see what happens.

I heard if you put an original copy of Ducktales by Capcom for the NES into a toaster, it turns into a Poptart!*
*No, No It doesn't. If you believed that, how can you operate a computer?

Depends if you pronounce it as a single word "nes", or as "N.E.S.".

I honestly thought he was talking about toasting crumpets for a second there.

OK sorry. I haven't got one but if you don't want to use ebay you should be able to get one from Gamestation.
You do know the Master System is much better, right? :p

Are you sure you want one of these? I prefer the NES over the Master System but to be honest with you the NES had problems with playing games after some time. I'm talking about the front loading US NES not the top loading one. I think Nintendo fixed a lot of the problems they had with the front loading system when they released the top loading one. I have a front loader and around 20-30 games that I never play because of the VC. I got tired of blowing on my games or cleaning them everytime I wanted to play them.

The old NES really don't work well anymore, unless you can be sure it was really taken care of. The one I have is crazy anooying to get going. I've heard the top loader model is much better, but is also crazy rare and expensive.
Anyways I would suggest picking up on of those legal Yobo, or FC Twin knock offs. I think you can buy them on Amazon for 50$, maybe cheaper if you shop around. The FC Twin plays both NES and SNES games so that's a bonus.
Anyways, it's true they don't run 100% like the original system, I've heard that some games sound different because of the emulation. But for the most part I don't notice any difference and the thing plays EVERY cartridge I put in on my first try.
Just an option.

I second mikestrife's FC Twin recommendation. They're built pretty well, and you can rely on them working better than an ancient old NES.

I never heard of these machines before....I guess I'm living in a cave;)
I had to check them out. On ebay you can get one for $55 including shipping. If they work, they are quite a deal.

Apparently there is a newer system called a "Retro Duo" that has increased game compatibility, S-Video output, and is compatible with original first-party SNES controllers. They're all over eBay for around $55 as well.
I think they'd be well worth looking into for anyone who's not happy with the selection on the VC so far. ;)
EDIT: Actually, it looks like you can snag them for around $35-45 plus shipping. And they come in either black & red or white & blue! Cute!

Just check out the compatibility list (to avoid any disappointment).
EDIT: Oops, I didn't notice that you were in PAL territory.
