I have been playing Devil's Crush a lot the last days and I became curious about Alien Crush. It seems that the general consensus is that Alien is inferior to its successor. However, I wonder if it would still make sense playing it or it would not be worthy of it?
Anyway, it seems the VC could get more Pinballs. That Sonic Spinball is the only other offering and it doesn't seem to be that great.

Stick with Devil's Crush. It's an improvedment over Alien Crush.

I got Alien Crush after Devil's Crush only because I was desparate for some pinball action. Pluss, some of the sprites look like chestbursters from Alien and I just couldn't pass it up.
Alien Crush has this annoying thing where the screen blacks out for a split second to switch between top and bottom tiers (there's only 2).

Yeah, the jumpy scrolling is off-putting to me as well. I still like the game, though. The pinball action is well-done (though not as in depth as Devil's Crush) and the music is some of the best done for the TG16.

I have Sonic Spinball on one of those plug-and-play units and it's an okay game, but it's not worth 800 points IMO. I wouldn't consider it a "true" pinball game since there's a bit of platforming as well.
BTW, there's also Pinball on the NES which is a decent game that might be worth a look if you have a few extra points.
There weren't really too many pinball games released during the 8/16 bit generation. There was Crue Ball on the Genesis (probably wouldn't come out on VC due to licensing issues with the Motley Crue soundtrack) and a couple of conversions of Williams tables (Pinbot, High Speed) on the NES.

There's one for the Genesis/Megadrive where you could edit your own tables, but I forget what it was called. That was great, second only to Devil's Crush.

I have that game somewhere....it was my favourite pinball game!
I'd buy it again in a flash if it came on VC
I've forgotten what it was called though...heh

Yeah that looks like it.
Was there also a table covered with loads of flippers in the game somewhere? or was that probably one I made?
That video makes me want to play it again...
Shame that I can't find it.....and the wires on my megadrive are busted.
Probably should've took care of it better as a kid. :(

alien crush is a good pinball game. going to it from devil's crush however, is not a worthy idea. unless you have some nostalgia with the game, i would consider getting another game or saving your points. i have both games, but i bought alien crush long before devil's crush.

I was an owner of the original TurboGrafx and have played both games thoroughly. Get Alien Crush. It's only crime was that is was made before Devil's Crush and doesn't have a scrolling board. Frankly, I think it has a better theme than Devil's Crush.
