Yesterday was a fun evening as I enjoyed watching the keynote presentation by Steve Jobs at the annual Macworld expo.
I do it every time there's an apple event. It's like watching a good TV show: Jobs is a stage animal. Among the new products, I found very interesting for my needs (and eventually for others mac users here) a white box called Time Capsule. Time Capsule is both a hard drive and a WiFi base station. The WiFi capabilities are what we are really interested in, as it can then be used to access the Nintendo WiFi connection from both the Wii and DS totally wirelessly, without the need of any other software/hardware. Being it a hard drive makes it interesting because I (and I think all of you mac users) don't have an external hard-disk that can be used as a backup unit with Time Machine, the uber-cool automated backup system of Leopard. The "small" version is 500(!!)GB and costs 299 ($, €). An affordable and reasonable price! For every mac user who had problems getting his DS online (the Wii can rely on the Lan Adapter, which I own), this is an interesting solution. |

Yep...this is a great solution. Haven't had any trouble with getting the wii online as is but that external HD solution is perfect, if a little pricey compared to PC external HDs.

Macs are pretty Unheard of (people know of them, But prefer Windows, Mostly due to familiarity) here in Ireland; I've only ever seen 1 in my life. The iPod is a great piece of hardware though.
Apple: Now thatu own an iPod you might want to think of Buying an iMa.... Consumer: LALALA I'M NOT LISTENING, LALALA. That's just the way I see it.

Eh? Apple has been offering wi-fi network routers for years - a good while before they became fashionable, anyways - namely, the Airport (Extreme) Base Station.
My two generations old AEBS works like a charm for all our wi-fi needs: my Macs, my roommates' Macs, friends' Windows PCs, my Wii, and my DS. Can't say the same thing for that crappy Linksys we had before. Already have a backup HD, but no Leopard - not until I get a new Mac, whenever that'll be. My current Powerbook is too old for this new-fangled stuff.
