Advance Wars: Days of Ruin

Just from the little bits of info about the game it sure sounds like a must-have for strategy fans. After all, it's still Advance Wars, merely in a slightly altered shell. I won't mind having a more darker overtone to the game. Not that I didn't mind some of the cutesy stuff in previous outings, but it's good that the series is getting a face-lift. There is such a thing as too much of a good thing.

Here's what IGN posted about the game so far.

...Advance Wars will put huge focus on online play over the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Not only will you be able to fight against other players via the internet, you'll be able to voice chat while doing so. And maps that you create in the editor? As long as you've proven that you can win the challenge, you can send your creations to the Nintendo server for other people to download.

Oh man, this is going to be amazing. I mean, Advance Wars is awesome by itself. But this thing is gonna have WiFi with VoIP DURING the actual matches, not to mention the new graphics look really snazzy. This is a definite buy.

Pokemon and Planet Puzzle League have it already, but only when playing with friends. I figure it'll be the same here. That won't bother me, though. In the end, I just care that the franchise is finally going online.

I might get this since i do like strategy games but there is one problem. I suck at them. I swear Advance Wars Dual Strike becomes impossible during some of the later stages of the story.

While it is true that it gets tough later on, it's by no means impossible. Maybe in Hard Campaign (which I am currently playing through as the game is completely addicting.)

I actually got Dual Strike awhile ago, when it was first released. I beat normal Campaign, did a few extra things, then more or less hardly touched the Hard Campaign until now, because of other games. Coming back to it is so good though, the game is still one of the finest for the DS

Argh, can't wait for this game. It seems like another breath of fresh-air for the DS. A good online strategy game is what the system needs.

I'm really looking forward to this one although to be perfectly honest I couldn't care less about online play.
