I get what you're saying but I just think Nintendo is holding back on the SNES releases for some reason. If you look at it, the SNES is clearly the most neglected of the consoles that launched with the VC.
Yoshi's Island and
Star Fox are franchise titles sure, but they are also the last in their respective franchises that Nintendo can release on the VC, which IMO is the more likely reason Nintendo is not releasing them. Not to mention that in the case of
Star Fox,
Star Fox 64 officially replaced the original as the first canon entry in the series, so who knows if Nintendo will release a game that is no longer considered part of the storyline.
