Yes, But you have to remember that the Zapper and the Wiimote are bult upon two different technologies. The zapper is pretty outdated by the Wiis standards. According to the Issue in ONM I saw (even though I never trust their 'Ask Nintendo Section'), They would have to redo some of the original code.
