Could be wrong though. |
Super Mario World was only "optimized" by [poorly] stretching the display vertically, so the borders would look smaller... But this caused some tearing in the vertical scrolling as well as certain blurry files of pixels, so it's more of a nuisance, really. It hasn't even been updated to support interlace mode, which is quite a wierd move on their behalf, being one of their main important titles in the VC.
Only the Turbografx games can run at 60Hz in the Wii's VC. Neo-Geo games could theorically be run at 60Hz as well, due to its games sharing ROMs worldwide just like the TGX, and the same happens with many MegaDrive games (3/4 of the current releases) or certain NES titles, for example, but they don't seem to care much about it at the moment.
I always suggest, to anybody concerned, sending Nintendo or SEGA an email about this; the more people they see demanding a 60Hz mode, the better. And also, 50Hz are just much worse for your eyes (playing a N64 game in 50Hz for a few hours can be a pain, literally!).
