OK. Quest 64 / Holy Magic Century was the worst RPG on the N64, have that cleared now. But even 3/10 is a bit harsh even for me. I actually have beaten it back at that time out of thirst for an RPG and it was not outstanding but playable for one playthrough.3/5 Stars

So why not talk about the better N64 RPG's?

Everyone who has VC here knows Paper Mario which was undeniably the best RPG on that system.
I don't spare any words on this title, you can see it for yourself for only 1000 wii points. 5/5 Stars

I have beaten Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage (made by H20 Entertainment, who also developed
two other excellent N64 games: Tetrisphere and The New Tetris that are likely to hit the VC)

Aidyn Chronicles is the biggest N64 RPG and it's medieval setting with it's realistic castles, wide open fields, dark and treasurefilled caves, gigantic icemountains, vast deserts, big cities and little villages, stores to learn skills and buy weapons, armor, magic necklaces, pendants, clothes and more.... burnt down ruins, skeletons, hills, rivers, herbs, demonic monsters, goblins, orks, dragons.... cool skills like bard, diplomat, thief, cleric, and many magic spells... made me addicted to its universe.

It wasn't perfect, it crashed sometimes, and it had some bugs, weird wizard music, and sloppy controls. But you could save everywhere and the best thing was you could get 14 different characters, (but only 4 in your party) so you could at least play through the game 5 times (you had to keep your main character) and i can say it's a pretty different game, now that I've beaten it for the second time with later chars.

I always defend this game, because I like the atmosphere, and the weird music, the open lands, the rain that sometimes falls, the sunset and sunrise, the many skills and the party that talks together, give me a very adventuruous and epic feeling. the artworks are great, too.
But what should I say? This game is definately not for everyone.
It's a game for my unique tastes.

Ah.. yes, There are no random battles and the battles themself are exciting and a bit strategic. there are so many good things about this game but it's technically executed a bit sluggish. It's also 80 hrs long - one of the biggies.

I wished they bugfixed it or made an Gamecube remake.
It's more of a 4/5 to most of you, and some people just tear this game into pieces, but I personally love this game anyway. And I know if I'm old I'm going back to beat it a third time.

5/5 Stars because it's very unique for a console game. You would see this kind of RPG on PC but not on a N64 wouldn't you?

Next time I talk about my third favourite N64 RPG Hybrid Heaven by Konami.
