It would have been an insult to call DK64 part of the DKC series...they have nothing alike. i'd take any DKC game over DK64 any day of the week  | I'm not agreeing much there.
I consider DK64 to be DKC 64 or DKC 4.
It just happened they didn't name it that way.
Does Super Mario Bros and Super Mario 64 play the same? Not really.

well...maybe they were thinking along the same lines of what i think about it...
that's why super mario 64 wasnt called super mario 4
and that's why DK64 wasnt called DKC4
cause both those games are not like their early versions
then once New Super Mario BROS came out (notice he "bros"part of the title), they were fine calling it that because it played like the other mario bros titles.
