Since we don't like ads but like the forum, and the forum needs monies to be run, I decided to send a few units of currency your way using the PayPal. How much are the yearly costs of the forums these days?
Maybe we should have a yearly fundraiser? Like, have some sort of meter representing approximately how much it costs to run the site for the year (a season, a month, whatever) and fill it in to represent incoming donations. It doesn't have to be a huge thing, but a little graphic on the front page would make people more aware of the costs of the forum and what a luxury it is to keep ads out. I'd be willing to commit to mailing a small prize package of random portable games to the user who donates the most in a set period of time.
