It has to stream from the console, so it will only be a "fake-portable" device at best. The level of interconnectivity between this tablet and the 3DS/eShop remains to be seen. Will it be able to play portable games--even downloadable games--on its own?
I know you're not saying it's a new
idea, just one that you like. The implementation will be key.
The good news is that Sony is already doing these things with the PS3/Vita, so even if third-party developers do get on board with developing content that uses interconnectivity and secondary screen output, etc. it's not as likely to result in a lot of exclusives like it did a few years ago with motion control.
