What's not to understand? Just because you feel another game does it better doesn't make it difficult to work out why the Rare games have the following and nostalgia factor that they do.

The following obviously comes from the fact that both were groundbreakingly good games at the time of release and sold extremely well, with Goldeneye in particular attaining a huge following due to its seminal role in making people believe that FPS's could work effectively on consoles while Perfect Dark also has the attraction of being the follow up to such a well liked game and being made by the same well loved N64 developer.

Sure The World is Not Enough may be a good game too (I can't really say as I've never played it) but it came out two years later and so obviously seemed less original in a market that had become crowded. As such it wasn't played by as many people and so won't be as well remembered or as well followed as Goldeneye and its sequel.
