RULES

Back due to popular demand, this tournament maintain the double-elimination format of the first two tournaments, seeded by a 1-on-1 round robin. If necessary, depending on the number of entrants, a single-elimination qualifying round will be used to screen low-seed participants.

DROPPED/ERROR MATCHES

If a match drops or disconnects, the players must restart the match with the same characters and with the same stock levels as when the match was interrupted.

If for some reason one of the players has accidentally selected the wrong stage or the wrong item options, the match must be cancelled and restarted immediately.

STAGE 1: ROUND-ROBINS

During this round, every registered participant will play every other registered participant once. The round-robins will be 1-on-1 matches with standardized rules. BOTH PLAYERS must set the same item rules for them to be effective during these matches.

FORMAT: Time
TIME: RANDOM! (See Below.)

SCHEDULING: Round-robins can be scheduled at the discretion of the participants. Just before the tournament begins (when I know how many participants there will be) I will set a generous deadline for the last day round-robins must be completed.

This means it's up to YOU to schedule your matches for the first round. If you have a certain day that you have hours free to brawl, feel free to schedule several of your matches for that period. If someone misses several matches, his or her matches will be counted as "unofficial" so that they do not unfairly affect other brawlers' stats, and s/he will receive the lowest ranking going into the elimination round.

SCORING: After each match, I am going to want to know what each player's +/- was. That means how many KOs, how many Falls, and how many SDs. Simply post the results in the main thread immediately after your match so you don't forget. Both players should feel free to post the results, to serve as a kind of confirmation of accuracy.

STAGE 2: SEEDING and SINGLE-ELIMINATION QUALIFIERS

After I have received all of the results of the round-robins, I will compile them and combine them with the standings from the first two Yogurt Cups to seed participants into a double-elimination bracket.

If there is an odd number of participants, making bracketing difficult, we will have single-elimination qualifiers to make low-seed participants compete for the final spots in the tournament. This is the easiest way, and it's fair because it rewards the good players and makes the players with bad records have to compete harder to qualify.

STAGE 3: DOUBLE-ELIMINATION MAIN EVENT

Once all of the seeding has been taken care of, we're free to start the main event! This is going to be a double-elimination 1-on-1 tournament, with the winner of each match staying in the Super Nintendo Bracket, and the loser dropping down into the Virtual Boy Bracket. Losers in the Virtual Boy Bracket are eliminated from the tournament. If you find yourself in the lower bracket, don't give up! You can still fight your way back to a spot in the finals! This has happened before!

FORMAT: Stock
STOCK: RANDOM! (See Below.)

We will work out scheduling for this part of the tournament when we get there.

THE YOGURT CUP III: THE RANDOMIZER!

This tournament is going to be extremely unfair, frustrating, and hilarious! Super-competitive "serious" Brawl players with sticks stuck in certain orifices need not apply. Nearly everything in this tournament is going to be RANDOMIZED, from the characters you can use to the stages on which you'll find, from the length of time matches to the items that are disabled.

The purpose of this tournament is to have a good laugh and to test your skills when you're put into a situation in which you might not normally be comfortable. Never use Marth? Better hope the RANDOMIZER is friendly!

I will post the rules for each match before it is set to take place. REMEMBER that both players must set the same rules in their menu/options before starting the match for them to take effect, otherwise you may have to cancel out of a match and start over.

Let's have a good time with this one!
