As others have already respinded Madworld has borders, runs 17% slower, squashed picture and 50hz only. The developer has alledgedly blamed Sega for forcing them to rush the game onto shelves leaving them no time to implement optimisation for PAL. There were then concerns that Sega would do the same with the developers of The Conduit.
There are other Wii games that have suffered the same fate. I'll seek them out when I get time and update my PAL VC thread to include disk based releases.

Yes, it is very disappointing since as you say the DC pretty much pioneered this as a standard option (another reason I love the DC so much).
Why they have changed this probably has something to do with who's in charge at Sega these days.
