If you don't use battle saves its a lot harder, unless you do something like support do characters with earth affinities (say Nolan and Zihark) and have them gain 60
avoid each (IIRC it may not be 60 but its a round there).
But then again I trained everyone on PoR since theres so much EXP to go around on easy, on FE I just used units I planned to take all the way.
