Yeah, that's the main reason why it's my least favorite of the NES Mega Man games. But like you said, it is still afine game, and it's only my third least favorite in the entire series, with Mega Man 8 being the worst( stages were too long, bosses were lame, and you choose between 4 at a time), and Mega Man 9 being the second worst( cheap stage design).
